FROM THE SOURCES IN EAST ANATOLIA TO THE MOUTH IN IRAQ

Within living memory, the lifelines of Euphrates and Tigris are of essential importance in the arid climate of Turkey, Syria and Iraq. Even the coming millennium won’t change the resulting problems – the contrary will rather be the case.

We want to learn more about the life of the different people along the river. In 2000 and 2002, we start an expedition by bike and boat that will consist of several parts. In 2003, however, we had to put our plans on hold due to the Iraq war and the instable political situation that continues till today.
